But, We were still faced with how to
keep the receiver and lug from turning. Savage uses a
huge fixture that would not be very cost effective for a
small shop, so we designed a fixture that can bolt on to
both the Brownell’s and B-Square Barrel vice. The
barrel is held in the vice and the lug is prevented from
shifting by the pressure of the ˝" bolt. As strong
as this is, there are still times when removing a barrel
that has been on for some time, that we need the
addition of a receiver wrench to prevent the lug from
turning.
