Federal and NY State licensed gunsmith 

Since 1976 Tom Hanson has worked as a gunsmith, designer, and machinist. Tom is a 1976  graduate of Colorado School of Trades in Lakewood, Colorado.  After he completed his training in Colorado, he worked as a gunsmith in Fargo, North Dakota in a custom gun shop as a factory warranty gunsmith for Browning, Colt, Remington, Harrington and Richardson and Winchester  for a few years until heading east to work as a gunsmith for George Numrich Jr.a large gun parts supplier in  the Hudson Valley of New York state.  Early in his employment at there, the George started accepting designs from Tom for products and replacement  parts. In 1980 Tom opened a home machine shop to produce, as a subcontractor, some of the parts and products they sell. Including their Colt 1911 rifle stock adaptor (see the fine updated version only at Hudson Trading Post). 

 Times have changed and the shop has outgrown its' part time function with the addition of state-of-the-art CNC machining  capabilities and traditional lathes, polishing, bluing and related shop equipment.  In July, 1999, Tom left the  parts company and Hudson Trading Post Ltd was opened and is now located in Saugerties, NY. Tom can now provide you with more than the usual gun shop. Hudson Trading Post is now the exclusive North American distributor for a modern, environmentally friendly, bluing system. Tom offers  Cad-Cam design services together with complex  part duplication using CNC digitizing equipment.  Hudson Trading Post sells new and obsolete gun parts. We sell and services old and new guns, provide general and custom CNC machining, products and designs.  We have a 3 to 9  variable scope and see thru scope rings just purchased from Savage Arms. If you are looking for a replica Thompson machine gun or Tommy Gun, or maybe a Remington Rolling Block reproduction action or complete black powder gun, this is the place to shop. We are constantly producing new tools for the gun trade so check back from time to time for our new products. We are offering a line of new manufacture gun stocks that are crafted locally and a unique detachable stock for the Colt 1911. If you have been taken in by the funny flat "canoe paddle" stock being sold by our competition you will be please to find a stock that enhances rather than detracts from your fine pistol. Their mainspring housing won't fit many of the 1911's and clones due to the different shapes of the lower frame.
